I was overweight for much of my childhood.While I was overweight for much of my childhood.While others were lean and athletic, I was chunky and not very good at sports.I didn’t really like football though it did get me away from the TV and Nintendo and taught me what working hard was like.Being heavy as a kid (I was 214 lbs here at 14, I’m now 170 lbs at 44 years old and 6’1”) made me very conscientious about my weight and health.I’ve tried every diet (except strict vegan) and every exercise modality. Stieer away from "meat" that has no meat in it. Why anybody that doesn't want to eat meat would want to eat something that supposingly is looking and tasting like meat is beyond me.

Meat is likely the most nutritious food that is available to us. We evolved on it and should never compromise for less.

Just think about all the ingredients that are necessary to produce fake meat. It's a chemical shitstorm that will do no good to your body. Don't like meat? Don't eat it but please spare us with products that try  to mimic this.

It is disgusting to say the least and should have no place and it shouldn't be allowed to call this food. It's ultra processed garbage, thats what it is.

The third ingredient is inulin, a prebiotic fiber that can cause problems for some people (me included).Inulin can cause gas, bloating and diarrhea for some people. Vi-Shape® Nutritional Shake Mix Don't Buy This S Vi-Shape® Nutritional Shake Mix Don't Buy This Stuff. Here's my reasoning:

1- It has a blend of whey protein and soy protein. There's no reason to blend soy with whey. While not entirely bad, soy protein is likely a cheaper ingredient that they are using to dilute out the whey. Soy has the best protein quality of any plant protein, meaning that it has the most complete set of amino acids, but there is no reason to add soy to a whey protein blend except to save money.
Soy also has phytoestrogens in it and as a man I wouldn't eat it for that reason alone. :)

2 - It is highly processed and has a long ingredient line. They use sucralose as a sweetener, and while it's probably safe in small quantities, it won't help curb your appetite for sweet things. It doesn't really solve any problems except make something taste good that probably wouldn't without it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3- They make a lot of nutrition claims on their website and you can see that those claims around nutrient density/equivalency with real food are based on all the fortification they add. See all the weird ingredients like tocopherol acetate, niacinamide, and copper gluconate? Those are fortifications added to make the product more nutritious and seemingly comparable to foods like eggs and broccoli. Don't buy it. You're better off getting nutrition from real food.
4- The shake mix alone (the powder) is keto-compliant as it only has 2 net carbs (7g carbs carbs - 2g fiber). When mixed with non-fat milk (which you should *never* drink) it has 13g of sugar, which of course is not keto compliant.

5- It would be much better to buy whey protein powder from any number of sources (my favorites are Ascent whey protein or Optimum Nutrition Whey Isolate) and blend with your favorite fat.

Greasing the groove! I like to do random sets of b Greasing the groove!
I like to do random sets of bodyweight exercises throughout the day to stay mobile and alert.  Pull-ups are one of my favorites as there is something very satisfying about being able to lift your own bodyweight off the ground.
“Greasing the groove” is doing an exercise not at maximal effort or repetitions, but just doing enough to reinforce the neuro-muscular system behind that movement.  It’s a way to stay active and challenge yourself throughout the day without having to commit to a formal “workout”. You likely benefit more from incorporating movements throughout the day rather than cramming them all into a formal workout routine (though it can be challenging if you work in an office).
While we are all at home during this pandemic, there are many opportunities throughout the day to grease the groove.  How about doing some push-ups or squats right now?  We’re not in this to set any PRs, rather, think of it as practice. Plant-based "milks" are found to be lacking in key Plant-based "milks" are found to be lacking in key nutrients - including protein and vitamins.
It's likely that if you're buying plant-based "milks" like soy milk, almond milk, rice milk, oat milk etc., you're paying more for a food that is less nutrient dense.  In fact, you're just buying another processed food.
This is unfortunate, as many consumers perceive these milk alternatives to be cleaner and more nutritious than cow's milk.
This recent study done in Australia  abd published in the journal Nutrients found that 115plant-based "milks" are lower in protein, zinc, iodine, vitamin A, vitamin B12.  This is despite the fact many of the "milks" are fortified.
I don't advocate adults drink cow's milk since it is pretty high in sugar, but derivatives like yogurt, cheese, kefir and whey protein are absolutely healthy and appropriate for human consumption.  Growing children can and should drink whole cow's milk.
Milk alternatives should only be consumed by those that have dietary restrictions (vegan or religious) or a dairy allergy.  These fake "milks" are just another processed food to avoid and not waste your money on.
